Smith and Associates, PLLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented paralegal to join our team.
Our boutique family-owned and operated law firm specializes in criminal defense and family law.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the law, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research and analysis using online and offline resources Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and assist with case preparation Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing and maintaining exhibits and files Prepare and review discovery responses and manage document production Maintain client files and ensure all deadlines are met Assist with scheduling and coordinating appointments, depositions, and court appearances Attend and assist with client meetings, depositions, and court appearances as needed Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or a related field At least 2 years of experience working as a paralegal, preferably in criminal defense and/or family law Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy The Law Firm of Michael J.
